This one is all about starting fresh. We showed up to this Florence home ready to strip off the old roof and put down something that's going to hold up for the long haul. The old material had run its course - and rather than patch and hope for the best, this homeowner made the right call to go with a full replacement.

For the new roof, we went with Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration shingles. These aren't your average shingles. They're built with SureNail technology, which means each shingle is anchored with a much stronger, wider nailing zone than standard shingles. That matters a lot here on the Oregon coast where wind and moisture are a constant factor. You want a shingle that's going to stay put and keep water out - season after season.

A big part of doing this job right is having the right materials on-site and ready to go before the crew ever touches the old roof. That's why you see the delivery rig loaded down with pallets of shingles, underlayment, and accessory materials - all strapped down and organized. We don't cut corners on the prep side. Getting everything staged properly up front means the job moves efficiently and nothing gets missed once the tear-off starts.

If your roof is showing its age - whether that's curling shingles, granule loss in the gutters, or just a system that's pushing 20-plus years - a full residential roofing replacement is almost always the smarter long-term investment over repeated repairs. Patching a worn-out roof buys time, but it doesn't solve the underlying problem. A new roof does.
